  6. Well, another issue is under our belts, and the new format
  7. was very well received.  Never did we hear so many
  8. compliments for our work.  So very nice to hear.
  9.  
  10. With our very limited knowledge of programming, we did put
  11. out a new first screen for the last issue and another for
  12. this one.  Like "other magazines" which have different front
  13. covers for each issue, we would like to do the same.  Since
  14. our programming know-how is so very limited, we'd like to
  15. solicit help from some of our more knowledgeable readers.
  16. How about some designs for the first and second screens of
  17. future issues - the more bells and whistles the better.
  18. Think you're up to putting in some graphics, some sound -
  19. stuff like that? We would be most happy to run your original
  20. work and give you screen credit as well.  Follow the same
  21. delivery method we recommend for written articles - modem to
  22. Library #50, or hand delivery or mailing of a disk to the
  23. editor.

  25. The "popcorn" effect title page for this issue is not an
  26. original creation.  It was found on an ancient public domain
  27. disk and was changed to bring it up to the present needs.
  28. Maybe some of you have similar oldies which would lend them-
  29. selves to Bits and Bytes.
  30.  
  31. At any rate, we've got another assortment of articles and
  32. ideas for your approval in the files that follow.  Enjoy
  33. them, and help us to do a better job with original articles
  34. of pet techniques, program reviews and/or whatever.
  35.  
  36. By permission of the author, extra commands and features
  37. have been added to the ProDOS environment with a copyrighted
  38. program called NORT.  It is one of the 'building block'
  39. programs on the 'Developer Disk #1" from Nite Owl Product-
  40. ions, 5734 Larmar Ave., Mission, Kansas 66202.  If you like
  41. it, you can order 'PROGRAMMING-21' from the ACES library to
  42. get a sampler of this disk.  And, using the same program, we
  43. accepted an idea from our Librarian to use sub-directories
  44. within NORT to make the menus look a little less crowded.
